Email Efficiency Tips from ReplyTool

Helping you to use Email Faster, with less Stress and Hassle

I received a email from Yahoo - when I opened it it was written in what looked like Chinese.

I tried to forward it back to Yahoo - It wouldn't forward.

Then parts of it disappeared.

Each time I open it to find what to do with it - more disappears.

Now Yahoo doest not appear on the - To: line.

Has this happened to anyone else.

It won't let me block it.

I'm very concerned.

DeeJay.

This is very strange.

If anyone know where or what to do - let me know.
Short Stuff - I wonder what they did. I'm running my spyware now. Thank you.
Lynn - I tried customer care - It won't send. Do you know what the exact address is for customer care is?
Thanks Joyce. I will try.
I was able to find Security and they allowed me to write out what happened.
It is from Tiawan with a Yahoo Logo.
It would not allow me to forward. I sent it to spam - printed it off and it shows a yellow character sitting at a computer - a red square with eyes - holding a pitch fork and pointing a the monitor. Language is written in Tiawan words.
Very weird - deleted it - then I was able to send message to security. I have 4 spyware and antivirus - I ran all of them. Hope I got it. Thanks for all the concern.

  1. ♥Shortstuff13♥ Said,

I seem to recall someone from our group, talking recently, about the very same thing happening to them. I don't remember who it was, but it was a female. Hopefully, she'll see your question & go from there. Sounds very strange indeed!

  2. Lynn Said,

Haven't we all read about bogus mail from Yahoo coming to our mail
pages? I don't know if they use the Yahoo logo or not, since I have
yet to get one. But they warn that there can be a virus attached to
the bogus alerts and such supposedly sent from Yahoo. Close down
and run a virus scan to see what shows up. Check your security
settings, to make sure you are on a high level. I'll bet what's going on
may be a virus attacking you. So run the scan and then if you do
find something isolate and destroy it before it can do more harm to
your hard drive. That's what I'd do anyway.
Also email Custmer Care at Yahoo, and alet them to your problem.
And make sure you reboot and start over again.
EDIT: I just checked a post from customer care for a link for
you. Here is their referral link: Abuse@yahoo.com/ for any
mail that may be bogus and not from Yahoo. They said to
send them the headers from the post you received. And the
gist of the incident you experienced. Good luck!

all of the above is good advice , don't click on anything that tells you that you have viruses and offers to remove them .that's how i got caught.

Like Shortstuff, I remember seeing this question posed before and Just Joyce is correct on who to contact. I'm also with Old Guy on his answer…chuckle.
I don't blame you for being concerned. With all the viruses and worms going around now our computers can be at risk just opening up an innocent email that appears to be from Yahoo. Good luck and let us all know what you find out.

DeeJay, NEVER open anything, even if it is from yahoo if you don't understand it from the get go! just hit delete. I have received allot of these things lately also from "Daemon" I have no Idea what they are, so I have just been deleting them , because when I try to get assistance it is more trouble, I fill out these questionnaires completely, then they send me another email saying they need more information! It is just so defeating it is not worth the trouble! When you know they can access your account, why can't they just view it? It seems, Joyce Has some info, so go with her! she is very helpful!!! good luck.

ALL of the various emails you all speak of are NOT from Yahoo!, but rather thinly veiled/clones to fool you into them opening up the mail..which carries tracking devices, spyware, etc.

  9. queen of answers Said,

    please FORWARD the email to

    mail-spoof@cc.yahoo-inc.com

Dont copy paste it to a new email
FORWARD the original email. It will give them the routing information

This is the purpose of the FWD button.. not to send cutsie stuff to friends ( as a lot of people think)
    .

They can load viruses on your computer with that type of email…

Dont just do a spyware scan. Do a virus scan too.
