i need help on how to write a formal email?

i am looking forward to writing an email to the mayor of my city. i am 16 and want to sound perfect..i dont know how to write it!!! im guessing i put

Dear Mayor Janney,

?????????????
????????????
?????????????????
??????????????????????

Sincerely?,(OR) Student?,
*my name*
*do i put my address here and my school name>?
*where does the address go?*
*do i put my home address or school address?*

im confused because i wrote a letter to my congress man in which my counselor helped me but idk..do they care if i put student or what????…

can someone please give me an example or a reccomendation of how i should write it?

You should write a formal letter, hand deliver it or mail it, don’t use the email system. You can follow up with an email if you like to thank the Mayor for reading your letter, if you get a response. Based on what I have seen on most email correspondese, your best bet is a real typed letter the old fashion way.
