If you use your computer a few x a day, is it better to shut down or leave it on for optimum energy efficiency
Thru the day my hubby and I access the net for info or check email, etc., so are we better off not shutting down? Ever? I've heard that it takes more energy to power up when you start your computer. What's best?

sleep and the reason being if you shut down or hibernate you load your data back to the hard drive;saves wear and tear on the hard drive and sleep doesn't use much pwr. at all.
