Use the confidence that you have in your computer knowledge and in knowing that you are the life of the party. Take your time in dealing with every job situation, use the personality that you already know you have to win the confidence and respect of your customers, potential customers and co-workers.

    Chris,
First, learn to speak and write better thasn you did above. If you come across as an intelligent person, you'll be looked upon, and not at.
If you know your job, you'll be fine. A bit of self confidence is needed.

Don't make the customer feel stupid. Be nice and curteous and give them the benefit of the doubt. Smile too!

  5. G N A Said,

Speak slowly, really listen to what the person is saying to you (even if you have to repeat it back to them) and realize, they are asking you for help because they don't know what you know.

Stop 'trying' so hard. Speaking slowly allows you to gather your thoughts and answer the question you are being asked.

Repeating the question back to them shows you are listening and that you heard them. Don't think they will assume you are stupid, they won't.

Good luck with your new venture!
