Experience would definitely help. Kohl's is very picky when hiring new associates. Make sure you look presentable and eager to work there. They always look for someone reliable, punctual, honest and friendly. The more flexible your schedule is the more hours you're likely to receive. You're also expected to solicit as many kohl's charge applications as possible each day so be prepared to be constantly badgered about it. The associates discount is nice and every couple of weeks, they'll have a double discount for employees.
Good luck on your interview.
I know what they'll say. Sell us credit cards! Ask every single person if they want to put this on their card so we can sell more cards! Omg credit credit credit credit!! Everything looks like it's on sale woooooooooo even though we've completely made up the original prices!!
I know what I'll say: Check out my stuff. Go fast. Don't talk to me when I get up there, I'm not interested in your life. Don't spend twenty minutes chatting mindlessly with some other customer or trying to approve a check (because we all know you'll be the only cashier open at all times).
Above all do NOT mention the damn credit card. We see the ads plastered all over your store. We don't need to be hassled any more than we already are.

1. You need to apply.
2.Fill out application blank on line or in person and make sure it is complete nothing blank.
3. If called for an interview make sure that you look clean and presentable.
4, Go to some of the websites like http://www.snagajob.com and read the stuff they have written on how to interview and make a good impression.
5. Practice answering interview question before you go for the interview so you will not be too nervous
6. Be honest and truth full when you answer questions.
Hope this helps.

I work at Kohl's.
This may help from http://www.businessactivitytips.com :
People represent the organisation. The organisation can provide tools like training and scripting, however no amount of customer service training and scripting will substitute a person’s genuine interest in the customer, and the desire to help them.
If you have a genuine interest in the customer, conversation will flow naturally. The customer will feel comfortable talking with you and confident you have answered their enquiry or actioned their request.
If you have the desire to help them, you will instinctively listen to what customers say and pick up on important words that help you identify what their needs are.
You will then be able to provide information to the customer in a logical manner and order, based on the importance to the customer.
After your interaction with the customer, you will be able check the customer understands the information you provided, and that will give the customer the confidence that their enquiry was dealt with to their satisfaction.
