I have some ebooks that I want to sell on a site, but I want an "autoresponder"? (is that the right term?) that sends the file upon payment by paypal. What are they called, and what should I google. I would prefer an Australian product, but it's ok if it isn't.

This is possible, you probably want to search for selling digital content, digital products, sell downloads etc..

The process is pretty simple, you put a paypal button on your site with some id tracking codes. When someone makes a payment using those codes, paypal notifies software on your website via IPN.

It will send them back to your site after making a payment and then allow them to download your ebook. (it doesn't send the file through email)

One thing to be wary of when sending files through email is their spam/bulk email filters may filter out your ebook. They might think you ripped them off
if it gets lost in their email system.

Yes you can easily setup settings in the website if you have medium level of knowledge in any programing language. But autoresponder needs little bit complex coding. According to my experience for autoresponder option you need all sorts of customs settings to satisfy users needs.

Learn to make good use of the spell check option. As you are typing here in yahoo answers it is just above the text box and to the right. In most other programs it will be found under the tools menu or on the tool editing tool bar. In call centers you will probably need to note computer files and this may require abbreviations. They usually take the form of consonants and no vowels, but not always. tres = tried residential phone. lop = spoke with lady on the phone. hu = hung up. tres, lop hu = I called the home phone and the lady hung up on me.

I'm assuming you've set up an account.
On your mail page, click on the "compose" tab, and the message screen opens.
Put a valid address on the TO line. If you want to send the same mail to several others—–enter all addresses with a COMMA between each.
Put something on the SUBJECT line to identify the mail.
Write your letter in the message blank—-and when you're finished, click SEND.

A copy goes into your sent folder—-if you want to see what you've just mailed out.
