Customer Service?

Why do you think that customer service has gone by the wayside, I know it can't be an easy job, and the pay is probably low, but I find when I get good service, I thank the person profusely, or over tip them.
In flight the other day the pilot announced to the passengers not to make the airline stewardess upset,blew my mind, I thought she was there to serve us.
Don't you think in instances where you are spending your hard earned money, that you are entitled to a little more in the service industry, than you sometimes get.
Sorry, I forgot they were called flight attendants these days, all the more reason to be attentive.

Very good question. I'd say it has a lot to do, with lack of incentives, and poor management. If I get bad service, I don't return to a place, for awhile.
